What is Digital Disruption?

Digital disruption is the term used to describe the changes in businesses and industries created by the internet. Here’s an interesting article from TechTarget about this issue.  Furthermore, there are opportunities to exploit this.  

A few years ago, our biggest Dymocks store in Perth closed its doors. Borders books didn’t survive in Australia other. This is because of so many large book retailers moving to online stores. In addition, many readers are moving to e-readers like the Kindle or just using an app on their smart phone.  This is the most obvious threat due to digital disruption, the printed word, however every industry has been affected in one way or another.

However, as Uber and many other businesses are showing us there are opportunities in every market.

So how does this effect my business?

This is where the opportunity presents itself. In addition to keeping up to date with the changes caused by digital disruption, you should constantly be looking for new ways to do everything.
